This picture in daylight was taken after an exposition to UV SW. This Afghan hackmanite normally almost colorless took a violet hue that disappeared rapidly as the minutes passed. Other specimens already quite purple under daylight become much more purple after an exposition to UV SW.

Tenebrescence is also found in certain hackmanites from Canada and Russia as well as in tugtupites from Greenland.

White phosphorescence after exposition to UV.
