Bois silicifié. Cela se produit quand un arbre mort
est recouvert d'un sédiment minéral fin qui l'enserre
et garde sa forme. Les eaux circulant à l'intérieur
du bois remplacent progressivement les matières organiques
par des matières minérales. Ce processus est très
lent et permet souvent de garder les moindres détails
de la structure du bois.

Petrified wood. This happens when a dead
tree gets covered with a fine mineral sedimentation that encircles
the tree tightly and eventually keeps its shape. Due to the
waters flowing inside the tree, organic matter becomes progressively
replaced with mineral matter. This process is very slow and
often results in the keeping of the wood structure's smallest
details.
